Meeting Anna
Boom! Four articles banged out, just like that. Had fallen behind, thanks to my newly intensified love affair with jogging. The wind, the rhythm, the pounding heart – it’s intoxicating, but my keyboard was neglected.
Enter Anna.
I met her at a local book club — did I mention that?
…And there’s this light she carries. She’s elegant, her fashion sense exquisite and unpretentiously chic.
The way she laughs at the unexpected, sending sudden roars of laughter my way, makes my heart warm. She catches me off guard, and I find myself laughing more and more. I’m drawn to her allure, her refreshing spontaneity.
Her knowledge of the city’s culinary scene is uncanny. “How do you know all these places?” I asked as we enjoyed gourmet tacos at a hidden gem she’d discovered. She just winked, her fork poised elegantly between her fingers, “I just love good food and exploring, Kel.”
I feel lighter with Anna around. Despite my jam-packed days and the annoyance of a careless roommate, I find solace in our burgeoning friendship.
She’s a cure to my sometimes-poisonous life, a friend with an intoxicating laugh and an exceptional taste in restaurants. I’m looking forward to what’s next. Maybe Anna will finally get me to enjoy eating out as much as she does, and I’ll introduce her to the thrill of a morning run.
Anna, with her unexpected humor and effortless elegance, has brightened my horizon. I’m learning to balance work, fitness, and now, a delightful new friendship.
Life is looking up, filling with unexpected laughter and delectable dinners.
And as for the jogging? Well, I’m clocking more miles, but now, with the thought of Anna’s next restaurant suggestion fueling my strides, it’s a delightful challenge.
Life is good, and so unexpectedly sweet with a friend like Anna.
